Why Doesn’t My BlockFi Prepaid Card Work on MyPrepaidCenter?
Issue
After receiving a BlockFi reimbursement prepaid card from MyPrepaidCenter, the card would not work anywhere. Online and in-store payments failed, making the card effectively useless.
Probable Cause
The card can get blocked for two common reasons:
- Clicking too fast while trying to activate or use it — the system mistakes you for a bot and blocks the card.
- Incorrect activation or usage — if you try to add the card directly to a wallet like Google Pay or Apple Pay without correctly setting it up, the card may be permanently blocked.
Solution
Here’s the step-by-step process that finally worked:
- Go to MyPrepaidCenter and activate your card.
- After activation, you’ll see the full card details (number, expiration, CVV).
- Download the MyCardWallet app by Blackhawk Network (available on App Store/Google Play).
- Open the app, click Add Card, and follow the instructions.
- Once added to MyCardWallet, you can then safely connect it to Google Pay, Apple Pay, or other services.
- Important: never try to add the card directly — always go through MyCardWallet first to avoid auto-blocks.

If your card is already blocked, unfortunately the only fix is to call the MyPrepaidCenter helpline and request an unlock.
