How I Made GeForce NOW Work on Fire TV

Issue

I got a Fire TV to test it out because I heard it’s faster and better than the default smart TV OS. However, I was surprised to find that the GeForce NOW app is not available natively in the Fire TV app store.

Probable Cause

GeForce NOW is not officially supported or listed in the Amazon Appstore for Fire TV, so it cannot be installed directly through the default app marketplace.

Solution

To get GeForce NOW working on Fire TV, I did the following:

1. I opened the Fire TV’s web browser and navigated directly to the F-Droid website. F-Droid is a repository of open-source Android apps.

2. I searched for Aurora Store on F-Droid, which is an unofficial Google Play Store client that respects user privacy.

3. Using Aurora Store, I found and installed the GeForce NOW app on my Fire TV.

Before installing apps from outside the official store, I enabled Developer Mode on the Fire TV by going to Settings, then Developer mode, and clicking the confirmation button 7 times. This allows installation of apps from unknown sources.

After these steps, GeForce NOW worked perfectly on the Fire TV without any additional configuration.
